EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING

What is emotion?

Emotion is that feeling that drives our actions, the way we feel or react to, makes us react in a certain way or do certain things that we might not be aware of or are comfortable with. In other words, emotion is a feeling that defines our moment. Emotions can be triggered by anger, grief, love, happiness, etc.

Stress effect on our emotions

Time and pressure to perform high workload and the general feeling of stress are often not seen as warning signs of stress. Even the healthiest person can only deal with stress and pressure for a limited amount of time, which is by no means limited to the job. Private life can also be stressful. It is not news that mental illnesses of all kinds are increasingly being diagnosed in the world. Depression, bipolar disorder, burnout, and countless other problems are among the most common diseases worldwide.
One of the reasons is that emotional health is often not taken as a priority.

Emotional well-being & health

W.H.O defines health as a complete state of mental, social, and physical well-being and not only when you are not diagnosed with any illness.” Also, many definitions include general satisfaction with one’s own life and achievements.

It is important to realize that these are expressly not objective characteristics. People can feel unhealthy and sick, even if they have nothing to complain about physically and others envy them for their lives. A good job, family, friends, money – none of these things is always good for mental health. You must manage your emotions and soul life in the same way.

Important elements of emotional well-being

  • Self-acceptance
  • Personal growth
  • Meaning of life
  • Environmental control
  • Autonomy

Improve your emotional health

You should pay rapt attention to all elements of your emotional well-being. When there is an imbalance or the feeling of being under a certain strain, emotional health should be actively promoted. To do this, however, a goal must also be formulated and pursued. It is often not enough to avoid negative experiences. Instead, you have to work positively on your happiness and self-confidence.

Everyone experiences phases of depression in their life and should not go through them alone. You have no reason to keep your situation and feelings secret.

Talking openly and attentively about your condition is the first, and perhaps most important, step in improving emotional health. Improving emotional well-being means actively working on yourself.
